Spotlight Theatre Arts

Spotlight Studios for the Performing Arts in Fairport announces a Tuition Scholarship program to students in the area who love drama, music or dance. Scholarship awards are not based on financial need; instead, they are based on passion for the arts.

Winners will receive free or discounted classes at Spotlight Studios for the winter/spring semester 2010.

To apply for the scholarship, please submit an entry to johnb@SpotlightArts.com, with the subject "Scholarship Application." The entry should include:

An expression of the student's love of music, drama, or dance. This expression can be in the form of an essay, poem, short story, drawing, sculpture, performance or any artistic endeavor (sculptures, etc can be submitted electronically by video or photograph). The expression is ideally created by the student, although younger students can certainly have a parent's assistance. The ideas expressed are more important than spelling, grammar, quality of video, etc.
Student's name and age, Parent's name, address, phone number.

Entries are due January 18, 2010. The scholarship winner will receive free tuition to a class of their choice and have their entry featured on the Spotlight webpage. Two runner-ups will receive 50% tuition discount and 25% tuition discount respectively and also be featured on the Spotlight Theatre Arts website. Winners will be notified by January 20. Classes start the week of January 25.
