Spotlight Studio for the Performing Arts
The Spotlight Theatre Performing Arts Studio is dedicated to the education and advancement of Performing Arts for teens and kids around the area. Our focus is on musical theatre performance (singing, acting, dancing) and we also offer individualized lessons in singning, acting, dancing, piano and guitar.
Summer 2011 Classes
Sign up early! Classes without adequate enrollment will be cancelled (waiting to register is the best way to close a class).
$15 discounts for multiple family members enrolled in classes, "Bring-A-Friend" or for any registration received by June 15! Payments must be made in full before start of the class.
A $15.00 Registration/Materials fee has been applied to all classes.
RISING STARS (Ages 6 to 8)
Class Description. Cost: $120.00
(8 weeks)
- Saturdays 9:30am-10:30am, with John. July 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug 6, 13, 20, 27.
- Working on scenes, songs and dances from popular Broadway shows. Final performance on the last day of class.
MUSICAL THEATRE I (Ages 9 to 13)
Class Description. Cost: $120.00
(8 weeks)
- Saturdays 10:30am-11:30am, with John. July 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug 6, 13, 20, 27.
- Working on scenes, songs and dances from popular Broadway shows. Final performance on the last day of class.
MUSICAL THEATRE II (Ages 13 to 17)

TEEN ACTING / IMPROV
Class Description. Cost: $100.00
(6 weeks)
- Sundays 3:00pm-4:00pm, with John. Ages 9-13.
- Sundays 4:00pm-5:00pm, with John. Ages 13-17.
- July 10, 24, 31, Aug 14, 21, 28.
- Learn the basics of acting and comedy improv.
PRESCHOOL CLASSES
ABC Family Music and Me (0 - 7 with parents)
Cost: $125.00
(includes Home Material Kit)
A wonderful whimsical class experience of rhythm, rhyme, rhythm instruments, play, song, movement and stories for children 0-7 and parents.

SPECIALTY CAMPS
Audition Workshop June 27-July 1
Learn the Dos and Don'ts of auditioning! Singing, acting and dancing. Great way to prep for summer and fall auditions! Mock audition at the end of the week!
Cost: $105.00
- 9:00am-12pm, Monday thru Friday. Grades 1-5
- 12:30pm-3:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Grades 6-10
- Learn tips, tricks and techniques for auditioning for shows and college programs. We will work on singing, acting and dance auditions. The session will conclude with a mock audition with constructive critique - what a great way to try out your audition skills without the fear!
Glee Workshop! August 22-26
This "show choir" setting will combine singing, dancing and fun into a great week!
Cost: $95 (1 week)
- Morning session 9am-noon (Age 10-18)
- This new camp will focus on high energy singing and dancing in an intense show-choir setting. Focus on dance technique and sequences, vocal harmonies, and putting it all together to create an amazing performance! Spend the last week of summer singing and dancing with friends!
Broadway Rock Star Camp!
Find out what it takes to be a Broadway Star! Singing, acting and dancing from your favorite Broadway Musicals!
Cost: $95.00
- July 18-22. 9am-noon.
- Learn to sing, act and dance and find out what it takes to become a Broadway Rockstar! We'll work on technique, skills, tips and tricks that you can use in the end-week performance and other shows.
Community Choir (Grades 8-College Freshman)
Developing musicianship and performance skills through ensemble singing.
Cost: $150.00 (8 weeks)
- Saturdays 10:00am-12:30pm, starting July 9.
- We will be focusing on developing musicianship and performance skills through ensemble singing. Our musical selections will include pieces from classical repertoire with a few modern tunes thrown in the mix. This is a unique opportunity that gives teenagers a chance to really dig into choral music, and learn the basics of blending and tuning within a large group. It'll be a ton of fun as well! A great opportunity for teens to sing together outside of a school setting.
